Mortgage applications declined last week for a third consecutive time, hurt by a drop in purchase and refinancing. The Mortgage Bankers Association’s index fell 1.4% in the week ended Sept. 17 to the lowest in six weeks, Purchases fell by 3.3% and refinancing fell by 0.9%.
