Mortgage bond prices opened higher Tuesday morning erasing almost half the losses seen Monday afternoon. Rates found support early from weak stock futures, an indication the DOW Jones index will open lower In news released this morning, housing starts stood at 549k, sharply lower than analysts’ expectations of 575K. This is further proof the housing market remains under pressure.
